How to Play European Blackjack

Introduction

Blackjack is a table game where one or more standard 52 cards decks are used, with each denomination having a point value. Cards with the face value of 2 up to 10 are equal to their face values whereas the kings, queens and jacks are each worth 10, and aces may either be used as 1 or 11.

The aim in blackjack is to draw cards totalling closer to 21 without going over this number than the dealer’s cards. PlaynGo has brought to you the table game of European Blackjack at Magical Vegas where your objective will be to get a hand with a value closer to 21 than the dealer.

You can stake £1, £5, £10, £25 or £100 per hand by clicking on the desired coin denomination on the bottom left-hand side and then clicking on the Click to Play on the Blackjack table.

How to play?

There are various actions that you can take in this game such as, clicking the Rebet button to place the same initial bet as the preceding round. The Deal button will start the round after a bet has been placed. You can click the Hit button to be dealt an additional card and you may click on this button multiple times before clicking on Stand button which you may click when you are satisfied with the value of your hand and desire no additional cards.

If your first two cards are of the same value, you may split them into 2 separate hands by placing a second wager of equal value on the second hand and you may then proceed to play one hand at a time.

After receiving your first two cards, you can double your bet by clicking on the Double button whereby you will be dealt with only one additional card to complete your hand. When the dealer's first card is an ace, you have the option of placing an Insurance side bet which is equal to half of your initial bet and if the dealer has blackjack, you win 2 to 1 on your Insurance bet and the round ends, however, if the dealer does not have blackjack, you lose your Insurance bet and the round proceeds as usual.

To calculate the value of your cards, they are summed according to certain rules such as cards values where cards numbered 2 through 10 are worth their face values, jacks, queens and kings are worth 10, ace is worth either 1 or 11 depending on whichever is more advantageous, and the suit of the card is of no importance in this game.

Cards are re-shuffled after each round and the dealer stands on all 17s. You can only split a hand once and you receive only one additional card for a split ace. A hand that totals 21 after splitting is considered as 21, not blackjack. With European Blackjack you can play up to 3 hands simultaneously and this game is played with 6 decks of cards. You can double on hard 9-11 and there is no peek during this game. Finally, blackjack will award you a 3:2 payout.

The objective of European Blackjack is similar to various blackjack games where your aim is to get a hand with a value closer to 21 than the dealer. If your hand exceeds 21, you bust and lose your bet and if the dealer busts, you win where all normal wins pay 1:1.  To place a bet, you will require clicking on the desired chip and then click the game table in the location you wish to place the chip. The chip will be added to your total bet where all bets must conform to the table limits. You may remove a bet by selecting the X chip by clicking onto it to remove all bets or simply can click on Clear All.
